Funny you should ask, but I'm going to a class tomorrow @ Reeds. They're in santa clara, probably too far away, but I believe that most ranges have a basic firearm class. I don't know which places are best or recommended.

The one I gave Jim didn't touch zoanthids as far as I could tell. I had multiple zoa/ paly frags and a large colony of basic green zoas that showed no ill effects from him, but keep an eye on him nonetheless.

I looked at it and it seems good but hard to know w/o seeing it or trying it. I'm curious as to how loud the fans are, other LED fixures in the same box (Evo for 1) had fans that were loud, even the 'quiet' fans were loud. If you run a quite system the fan noise can be a real drag.

I'm with Rich- I buy corals that look good to my eye and that's all that matters to me. The My Miami chalice that goes for hundreds/ eye looks like a typical watermelon chalice to me. :) It's not hard being colorblind & reefing, I describe it as if a normal person can see 100 different colors...

Yes I know they've only been out shortly, I was thinking about adding one or more of them, but was curious if anyone had tried some of those colors. It's kind of intriguing to think what would only a UV and say magenta look like together when the primary lights are off.

Welcome, and drilling it's that bad, go slow w/ water and you'll be fine. be careful when you get to the end to not push through or you'll get small chips instead of a clean cut.

I've used Aquavitro since it 1st came out and it's always been cloudy, after 8 hrs, 24 hrs. and more, still cloudy. I don't sweat it and the cloudiness in the tank subsides in a short time. I do dread how it puts a white coating over the pumps and you get flakes.

Tagging along- I know the description on one of the online stores, Coralmorphologic, states they stay put and don't wander, but I have no experience myself and would like to get one too.

I use the Hanna ULR phosphate checker. I regularly get 0 readings, once in a while I'll get "1", but then a recheck ends up with a "0". I also had Neptunes use their phosphate checker and it confirmed my Hana's readings.

I do run carbon & change about once/ month. I'll know not to cut such a big frag next time as that branch died- at least the rest of it is ok.
