    Chloramine filtration

I started of with 4 stage Sediment, Carbon, Membrane, DI. Then I added another canister for dual DI. Then after this thread, I added another Carbon. And switched both carbons to the chloramine specific ones. Never tested for chloramines, but not too expensive as an extra safeguard.

    Pod Hotels

Saw this on a facebook post, and then found an old thread on r2r. https://www.facebook.com/mike.herman.758/videos/1444490195604290/ https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/diy-pod-condos.129693/ I have some of this corrugated plastic material at work we use for signage. So cheap and easy to make...

    Mulling over lighting. Advice sought.

Picking up a used 6 bulb ATI from a local reefer :) Going to add 2 led bars to supplement. Taking my sweet time to polish out my used frag tank

    Mulling over lighting. Advice sought.

For a 48"x24"x12" tall (short)... would you go with 6 or 8 bulb T5? I was thinking of added LED strips on each side (I have a spare Reefbrite already). I have plenty of height and no canopy. In my backroom, so I don't care how it looks, thus will get a hydroponics fixture and schedule with my APEX.

    Camera settings

Also, to prevent camera shake, use a tripod, and either a remote control or shutter timer.

    Yellojello's 120

Took about 45 min. That's because back wall was a thick crust of coraline which took a lot more passes. Also, takes time to do a slow and precise scraping near the silicone corners as to not damage them. It's quite quick with a magnet cleaner with razor blade attachment.

    Yellojello's 120

After 7 years, I decided to clean up my back wall for the first time. I painted my back wall, so I was scared to scratch of the paint using the magnet scraper. I bought a thin piece of pvc plastic sheet to cover to the backwall, and voila, magnet cleaner safe. Feels so different, not sure if in...

    Coral farmers market?

It's nice to just meet the vendors. Lots of good guys, and if you see stuff you like, can always bargain later and have stuff shipped to you.

I got a mille from Golden Basket and WWC at the last coral farmers market. Golden Basket has very nice ones that I follow on Facebook.

    Fritz salt

I have cleaned my Brute before, but it's a bit scratched up and might have some residue in there. I will try with a brand new spare Brute I have to see if it solves the issue. The airtight thing is after it would be mixed, and I mix in a standalone Brute just for storage, so no fittings used.

    Fritz salt

This is interesting... https://byo.com/hops/item/1883-build-a-budget-big-fermenter-projects "Like most plastic containers — including the typical brew bucket — your Brute fermenter will never be 100% airtight. This isn't a big deal as far as I'm concerned, as I've had 3- and 4-week primary...

Does anyone know of any air tight lids for Brute containers? Or a source for a gasket that size? Those with large water containers, are yours airtight and don't have the alk drop issue?

    Frag racks

Does anyone know what size neodymium magnet is the "extra" magnet for the Frag-A-Rack. I have one that needs reinforcement. He sells them for $5 on his ebay page, but seeing if they can be had for less. On another note, I have 2 of the Captain Saltys ebay frag racks, the holes just a little big...

RODI Level Sensor Switch (Barrel Tender)

Genius! Forgot about that. Was thinking of standalone at first because my Skimmate Locker took the I/O port, now I just need to convert it to barewire and put in the bob.

RODI Level Sensor Switch (Barrel Tender)

Just wondering if anyone has made a DIY of the Avast Barrel Tender, which is also similar to JBJ ATO. Low level and high level float/pressure switch to control RODI unit. Someone else over here made one, but I don't know what 12v PCB he is using...

    Yellojello's 120

Typically, you are supposed to do 3 treatments, a week in between each. So I'll probably do two more times. I'll check tomorrow to see if there are any issues. All I did was put skimmer back online. Most either do large water change and/or run carbon and put skimmer online after about 8 hours...

    Yellojello's 120

@Coral reefer I don't think so, but just threw it in there as a maybe? But so far so good! This is during the day with all lights on. Turned skimmer back on at 6 pm. No carbon, no water change, will check back tomorrow. 10:21 AM (Dosed at this time) 1:34 PM 3:18 PM 4:55 PM
