If you're scraping the diatoms from your glass twice a week then that's pretty normal for the most part until the tank is really dialed in and it's in balance. You're still looking at scraping at least once a week afterwards for the most part, especially if you're actively feeding the tank...

How long has the skimmer been in operation? Did you vinegar bathe your skimmer before putting it in operation?

Is your coralline growing like mad in the tank? Also do you have a clam or added a clam recently?

You can find those with caps at that size, and even larger cups, at your local Smart&Final if there's one around you. The round labels pairs well with them.
