    I killed my blue cloves

Man, I remember when people paid big bucks for this coral: http://www.reefready.net/add.php?ct=collector&name=Blue%20Snowflake%20Cloves%20small&id=347&page=11 Now people want to get rid of them. I like them because they add a nice blue color to the purples, green, and reds of coralline...

Please, please, please, let it not be this. I'm gonna be madder than Hitler.

Well, the good news is that I do not have AEFW. Yay! The bad news is that I still have not figured out why my millis are browning out and slowly declining. As I mentioned before, I got rid of 6 inches of sand in my refugium because I thought maybe my tank was suffering from old tank...

    Dosing--Peristaltic Pumps

For the Drew's dosing pumps--how do you automate them? With timers or do they have controller built in? The Bubble Magus and GHL Profilux look pretty sweet (especially since I decided to dose Magnesium as well)...

The Tim Taylor Approach To Cooling Your Aquarium

I was in Palm Springs for a wedding and the hotel I stayed used a chiller on their pool. Day after day of 115 degree heat turned their pools into hot tubs.

My main flow is also directed at the millis so I'm hoping this is all a false alarm. Rich, I'm gonna take you up on you offer and bring a frag in next week to look at under the microscope.

Please, please, please, let it not be this. I'm gonna be madder than Hitler.

A little background first: My millis started to brown out about 5 months ago. Very slowly. They have also recently started to RTN--both from the tips and from underneath as well as from the base. I still have decent polyp extension but the corals often slime up at night. In the last 6...

Dump for shallow tanks - for you Patrick!

Thanks Rich. I like it. GreshamH brings up a good point--I wonder how long the hinge would last underwater. If you kept it dry though....all you would have to worry about is salt creep making the hinge stick. and the holes on top would prevent major disasters if it did end up sticking.

    Bubble algae- losing the war....

My advice is lots and lots of sea urchins. I recommend 1 for every 20 gallons. They will utterly destroy all of bubble algae in no time. The steinhart does this for some of their smaller tanks by rotating a sea urchin between them.

    Top Off Question

I use a funnel (actually its a turkey baster)to prevent a siphon from occurring. I use an aqua lifter as my top off pump and I make sure the airtube is higher than the bucket. The air tube drips water water into a turkey baster that has its bulb taken out. the turkey baster then directs the...
