    Improved Color LED thread

The plexi shield is less than an inch from the lamps. I added two inch white paper disks under the red LED units and the color is much better. There is red and blue banding on the wall. The room is purple from the street. Yellow fish look deep orange. Knocking the red back makes the blue greens...

Video of 90 gallon Reef display w/5 gallon surge tank + equipment.

Great frag tank. Can it run looped with the main and separate for QT as needed?

The "Legend" of TubeRider's Looong Journey.

Like the water on bottom side of plexi for lighting. Mine always gets nappy with salt spray. This way it will be self cleaning except for maybe algae growing on it.

I remembered to mix up a bucket of water to replace the containers. Labels nearly done.

Schematics are so helpful, Dave. ;) The screen looks so user friendly for those in the room. Thanks for all the work.

    Tamazula's BC29 LED Retro

Is the cyphastrea showing loss of color? I have to move mine when the sun hits the tank or place a sheet of paper on the side to keep the sun off. I glued it to a magnet so I could easily move it up or down to find the right light. It lived there for a year. I recently moved it to the rock work...

BAR Regional Swap February 12th @ Chabot College- Please note location change

As a board member last year I want to thank the current crew for planning out this event and not killing yourselves the day of the event. Bryan I hope the flat cut off was much easier this year. Great idea. I hope each of you gets to enjoy visiting with other members and get some break time from...

The assessors are deep orange under my 'actinic' strand. Very different than the soft yellow with all lights on.

Controller questions (and new club meets old club!)

Reef Angel is running my lights and it looks like Roberto gave me enough instructions so I can adjust the % and duration in the language part of the controller. I am currently using four outlets, and could see how eight might not be enough on a much larger system. Eight is going to be perfect...

    Improved Color LED thread

I also notice the blue greens are the only color slightly washed out from the previous MH lamp. The BG caulasrtea is bright, but does not keep up with the yellow green one in intensity. This is where I may tune in the red down slightly and the blue up more. For all the corals that are...

    Improved Color LED thread

The reds leave color bands in my tank. I like that you have groups of three together close as that would seem to lessen the band effect. Does anyone have suggested high temps to run these off the top of your head?

    yaradartist's 36g

Three days on LED and the coral all look no worse for wear. I am very glad and how the health stays as the colors are very intense for a few animals. My camera does not take good color representation. I did get a few more clear shots two days ago by holding the camera on a brace, but the color...

    Dremel Tool

With eye protection I have cut the rock or rubble the zoanthid is attached to, then I broke the rock through with a screw driver twisting it in the cut, leaving the coral connecting the two pieces, and then I sliced the coral with a box cutter or razor. Cut with the dremel from the back side. If...

    Lythophyllon

This guy looks great under the new lights! Greens pop. It also has mouths starting to form out from the center. Getting close to fagging size. Maybe by BAYMAC.
