I have used the 1400' 1500' 1000, and some smaller ones. I don't know if they are DC pumps. All worked very well,but you might what to look into the Jebao RW pumps. I have the rw8 and rw15 and just ordered another rw15. They are a better pump as far as a wider flow pattern and you can set the speed.

I think your right. The rw8 would probably have be set in the 7-10 setting depending on how water movement your corals require. I think you will see that using the rw15 you will get plenty of movement using just the 1-3 setting. At least that has been my experience using both the rw 8 and 15.

I think we all learn the hard way when we start out. I also bought everything that moved, a lot of soft corals, which spread every where. Probably too much enthusiasm and this hobby is very addictive.

You don't need to use all blue. Call kessil in Richmond if you need more information. Like I said earlier Kessil has made the light spectrum to work at all blue/ white combinations.
