    How to clean Kessil optics?

positive it is the inside? Run your finger over it. I get salt misting on mine and have to clean it with pure water.

    Reefer's Safety Inspection check list

I dropped my GFI because MH constantly tripped them. Now that I have full LED, I think I'll go back to them :-D I have an MP10 that I use for subtle tank flow changes, and with it's battery backup, the tank be safe should something trip while I'm at work. In vacation mode, I'd probably bypass...

    Shimmer Lines- yay or nay?

Echoing Dave. The shimmer lines seemed VERY strong at first. After a while, they grow on you and they don't seem so exaggerated. Note that I'm using a pair of 150's, so not quite as intense shimmer as with a single point source.

    Magnet cleaner nightmare

I think you just need to edit their posts, freeze accounts, and make them a member of the Bronies.

    nasty sand

Funk is likely anaerobic digestion. Lots of ways to get there and if you aren't feeding much, I am thinking 1) too small of substrate (not familiar at all with oolite) 2) non-porous substrate (anaerobic digestion will occur in the substrate gaps rather than in the substrate pores_ 3)...

    My fish closet

Very cool Erin! I'm jealous of the space you have and what you've done with it You should really think about strapping down that CO2 tank. Nothing quite like a liquid propellant rocket in earthquake country :P

    OT: Wife's art

I'm extremely left brained and my wife is extremely right brained. Recently, she has been doing a series of paintings that highly amuses me. After much encouragement by very close friends and family who have seen her work, we finally put together a website of various past and current works...

Yet another lighting question topic - Kessil 350w's or radiums, opinions needed

purely based on older LED/Radium experience. If I had a lot of SPS, I'd go radium, otherwise Kessil. My history with SPS and LED hasn't be the greatest, but YMMV.

Dave, you are a mad man with your system :P When are we going to see solar powered electrolysis setup to generate hydrogen to use in a fuel cell to power your heater which will generate enough steam to power a turbine which will generate your electricity to run your lights?

Is there a clamp in the works for the 350 series lights?

I find the 150 gooseneck to be plenty sturdy, potentially sturdy enough for the 350. Doesn't solve the torque issue. of course, I am also paranoid about torquing glass :-D

Is there a clamp in the works for the 350 series lights?

just be aware that the 350 on a gooseneck will apply a lot more torque to the attachment point then a 150.

Brass fittings in an R/O system?

It isn't easy to find out charges for shipping. They probably figure most people ordering are not "people", so it isn't a big deal. I just checked a couple orders I placed for work and it looks like they get you the lowest price possible Merchandise 10.65 Shipping 5.09...

Brass fittings in an R/O system?

Shipping at Mcmaster should be~10 (cheaper than 15) and you can use that opportunity to get all sorts of supplies that are hard to get elsewere :)

    Help with a fitting

Its plastic. Don't use JBweld or glue. Use an appropriate plastic solvent bonder (like what weldon is to acrylic). I dont know what plastic that is, but it is likely ABS, PE, PP or Acetal. Weld-On 16 might work for you.
