For those interested in buying G2 Red Sea tanks

Looks good to me! Gave it a few days to see if I could think of any worthy additions and couldn't come up with any.

PIF: Glass panels from Reefer 425XL

Red sea tanks once torn down and resealed are fine. I've done a few and am tempted to do this one but my wife would kill me...lol I still have glass for a 120gal just sitting in the house. Corner clamping is fine until you start doing 8ft or longer tanks imo. The trick is knowing how much to...

    BioAdvanced (Bayer) coral dip questions

I always use gloves whenever dipping corals. Bio Advanced soil and turf I believe is the one to use. I'll have to double check my bottle when I get home today. I have it in my aresenal of dips but don't particularly like using it because it makes your dip milky white and imo observation of the...

    Thoughts on ceramic media?

I've heard that Marine pure fixed the leeching aluminum issue but cannot factually confirm this statement unfortunately. I've used the maxspect nano-blocks exclusively based on recommendations from fellow respected reefers and haven't seen any issue in my ICP results.

For those interested in buying G2 Red Sea tanks

After seeing a few Red Sea tank seam failures and having done a few reseals of them (1 complete tear down and 2 front panel removal and reseal plus adding bottom bracing) my opinion is it's poor manufacturing control. The way the silicone peels away from the front pane so cleanly makes me...

Complete Bonus/Ultra Coral List - 2024 (REVISED AS OF 11/14/24)

My take along with a few others is to put some easy softy corals as soon as the tank is started. The plugs they come on are more likely to have more micro biome diversity than any product you add to the tank. In this sense the can help in your cause of trying to establish a good bacteria...

Complete Bonus/Ultra Coral List - 2024 (REVISED AS OF 11/14/24)

Pick zoas/mushrooms/leathers and they should be fine in a new tank as long as you can keep salinity stable (easy if you have a good ATO).

Complete Bonus/Ultra Coral List - 2024 (REVISED AS OF 11/14/24)

I think checking for health should definitely be done at the check in table. Last swap I got some hammers that were cut down the middle of the skeleton (single heads were cut in half) from Bonus round picks.

Guide: Lanthanum Chloride dosing for Phosphate control

If drilling to install a line from the top. I would install a hard line on the bottom side and have it go 1in below the water line of the skimmer.

    Knock off / Clone MP10- MP-40

I believe I read something awhile back saying the patent ran out and Aperture didn't have plans on renewing it.

    Favorite step stool or stepladder?

I like the platforms so I can move around the tank without having to get down and reposition the step ladder.

Kay's Coral Cove long overdue introduction! About Us and our QT process!

The 6 weeks is per batch going in. It doesn't effect the other corals previously in the tank as there is no fish for the ich to host and then release throphonts so no risk of tomonts reattaching to any hard surface. I keep some of my grow out in the QT tank permanently. It does make more work...
