Already getting some encrusting over the superglue in a couple week, so it looks like moving it was a good idea. Less Par though so I’ll have to deal with that at some point.

I have one of these as well! No idea what it is. It has very slowly moved by about 2 inches from a few months ago. Doesn't encrust or grow but seems to use these tentacles to attach itself and slowly move. I've never heard of a sponge being able to do that, but im very uneducated on sponges...

99% sure it is a Collumbellid, good guy. However, if it continues to get larger past 1/2” or so it could be a Whelk and should be removed.

From my research, they are great aptasia eaters when they are young but often begin to ignore aptasia as they mature. In adulthood they may not provide any utility.

So, for the health and sake of the coral I decided I needed to remove it from its previously encrusted location. Unfortunately, that means I’m basically starting from scratch, but it’s better than the shaded side continuing to die back. I’ve already seen some positive signs.
