    Mushroom doesn’t look happy

Yeah, that was 40 plus on the nitrates that day. Not all rules are rules ;) This was the tank that day. For the record, I don't disagree that this is high, but I never saw any bad effects from too high nitrates or phosphates. Given this was a 4-5 year mature system with 250 gallons.

    How to gain traffic?

Maybe instead of calling them "free corals", we start saying something like "BAR has a very well stocked living library which members are allowed to take from with care" Or something like that

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

Not cheap, yeah it looks like all tonga branch glued together, with powder marco rock on the joints, then maybe a liquid epoxy base covered in the powder rock. Curious as well, no need to post publicly. I know how much work this stuff takes and the second scape you made looks great too...

    What’s this growing in torch?

Barnacle for sure, I love them in the tank. They don't spread fast and look really cool.

    in vegas for the week

Aquatic Collection and Artistic Ocean are the two best imo. I have two salt and one fresh tanks set up in West Summerlin to look at! None of them take paly toxin seriously and often have captain jerk and other known bad ones in their tank.

    Happy Father's day

No one told me I'd be getting just as wet taking care of my daughter as I do with my tank. Happy Father's Day!!!

It is 10 discrete sculptures that can all be removed individually in case a pest zoa or something finds its way onto a rock. I figures I couldn't feasibly treat anything long term if I had the same strategy as my last scape, which was two piles that made caves with two arches connecting the two...

Here are a few more pics of the scape. I tried initially to make everything different heights, then ended up with almost one level. Might be good for the fish though because there is room to swim up top and plenty of hides in the scape.

Plumbing external overflow box Bean Animal?

I can't zoom in on the images, can you upload in another format? I think it looks good but there are a lot of gate valves that I can't see where they go

    Red Sea Reefer Peninsula 650

Agree, once things are dialed then keeping stability with auto testing is key, as well as redundancy on other fronts that can crash a tank like temp.

Could be bigger Still have one more structure to move in, but this is an approximate layout. More crushed coral is curing with the rock next to the tank to help speed the cycle here.

300 Gallon Tank Substrate Media Poll

I'll probably throw the sand in another tank to play with it there. I'd love to see what you did. My thought was cast a mixture of sand a crushed coral in a mold with clear epoxy, but I am pretty limited on shape that way.

300 Gallon Tank Substrate Media Poll

I might as well just close the poll now. I asked my wife if she like the substrate in the last tank vs pictures of sand tanks and describing the combo. She said no way should there be both substrates, and she likes the crushed coral. So I am headed to the backyard to put the crushed coral in...
