Which pump to use with Neptune Apex controller

The neptune wav pumps are preeeetty unattractive imop, they look suspiciously like the old tunze stream pumps. Vortech/Gyre/Nero all have a cleaner look. Apex support is a pain but doable for vortechs and gyres.

    Mike's 200 & 40 gallon tanks

Plus if you need to put holes in it or something, expanded pvc is really easy to machine, much less inclined to shatter or make a melty mess than acrylic.

    200g reboot

Wow, good eye! I think you can guess what happened - There was a union at that spot in the original overflow plumbing. The plan was to cut the pipe above the union and install a new one, but a last minute run to ace hardware for 45* elbows uncovered what looked like a perfect match. Passed a...

    PIF: Toadstool frags

Long-green-polyp toadstool frags, in various states of mostly/barely/not attached to anything. I suspect it's the same morph in this thread: http://www.bareefers.org/forum/threads/dbtc-neon-green-polyp-toadstool.19235/ Also have several frags of large-polyp toadstool, sorta like this but with a...

    LF: Auto feeder recommendations

I've got a eurobraced tank, just looking to drop a few pellets in throughout the day to supplement the big feeding I do when I get home from work. The reviews for these things are all over the place - does anyone have one that they really LIKE?

    200g reboot

Well, I've destroyed the house, but the new sump has water cycling through it!

    Anyone going to Neptune today?

And nems. Especially sebae anemones. :D

    200g reboot

I wound up ordering a varios - I've worked with coralvue a lot (maxspect, reef octopus, ai, nyos, etc etc gear) and they've always been great.

Wrasse Lovers Unite! What ya got?

Not sure about that chart... C. flavidorsalis is aaaaggro. Also one of the hardiest and most impressively-neon-pink wrasses out there.

    200g reboot

Dims are 36" l x 19 3/4" w x 21" h for the sump, and 12" l x 19 3/4" w x 21" h for the ato (19 3/4" is the widest I can get between the supports in the stand) So now I need to figure out the return pump - Replace the eheim 1262 that I've had running this tank (and its predecessor) for the last...

    Help diagnose my tank!

I recently switched to feeding with the pumps off, which means the fish are actually able to eat ~85% of the food I put in rather than having excess food fly around and wind up in crevices all over the tank. It's made a huge difference in the plague of majanos and diatoms on the sand.

So who keeps sand in the tank?

Sand... it's a huge hassle for sure - and I keep maroon(ish) clowns so it's even worse. But the tank just wouldn't feel like a real reef to me without it, so I make it work.

    Two part raising my salinity

I think reducing precipitation ( make sure to dose into a HIGH flow area of the tank, and dose SLOWLY ) might be the best place to start here.

    Help diagnose my tank!

Did you keep the sand from the previous tank? Was it rinsed thoroughly? What is your feeding regimen? Do you turn the pumps off when feeding the fish?

    Two part raising my salinity

It sounds like you're dosing a TON of 2part? Any chance you're having precipitation issues too?
