Mike - I forgot about you this week. How about next week? I'll PM you my number.

    BRS Soda Ash

First and foremost, Sodium Hydroxide (lye) is nasty stuff to work with. You need to use proper PPE when working with it. Gloves, mask (or respirator if you have one,) and proper chemical rated eye protection. Mixing is very exothermic so use a glass beaker or container if you have one handy...

Where to find 1 1/4" threaded to 1" slip reducing bushing?

I found their pricing to typically be in line or slightly better than Home Depot or Lowes but some items there can be excessive. I have yet to pay retail price even through I'm just a cash customer there but I do find that my "discount" varies depending on who is working the counter. If they...

Where to find 1 1/4" threaded to 1" slip reducing bushing?

I get most of my fittings from Water Savers. They have a few locations throughout the Bay Area. You might need to use 1" male adapter to get to slip assuming you have enough room. You can also try Ewing Irrigation. https://watersaversinc.com/locations/

    BRS Soda Ash

Yep. I was in the 7.8 range before. Now my low is 8.05 on a bad day. High is around 8.3/8.4. If no takers by then I’ll be in touch. I can probably meet you close to a client depending on when and where.

    BRS Soda Ash

I can meet you part way? What day(s) are you on this side of the Bay Bridge? I switched to mostly sodium hydroxide mixed with a little bit of potassium hydroxide.

    Earthquake San Jose?

I was doing a water change on my first real freshwater tank at the time. It took me a few minutes to figure out why the water was sloshing around the tank. Luckily I had it drained far enough at that point that all the water stayed in the tank!

    Coral/Zoa Frags

They are both yours. PM me to arrange for pick up.

    Coral/Zoa Frags

3rd green Zoa frag not in the other picture. They’re all attached to rubble or snail shells.

    Coral/Zoa Frags

I have a handful of accidental frags available for anyone that would like them. I have 3 of what I think are green Anacropora frags (middle row) but I’m not really sure what they are. I also have 2 tropic thunder monti (front row) and a couple of green Zoa frags (back row.) Pick up in Oakley...

    Monti ID - Sunset Monti?

I think that might be it. It definitely looks closer to that than a sunset monti. Thank you!

    Monti ID - Sunset Monti?

I'm trying to ID a monti I bought a few months ago. Would this be considered a sunset monti? It looks like it has more orange than brown in it in person. What I'm seeing on line for sunset looks more brown to me but it's still the closest that I can find.

Best App for tracking water parameters?

I've used Aquatic Log off and on and I liked it. The main problem I had with it was my inconsistency to actually use it. I'm more apt to keep track of the numbers on a printed spreadsheet that I keep in a folder near my test kits. ~Charlie

    Free Zoa Rock

Last call for the rock. Going to dispose of it tomorrow if no takers. I might be at Neptune early afternoon tomorrow and in the Aquatic Collection/High Tide area after that.

    Free Zoa Rock

I think it’s the same as these: https://www.bareefers.org/forum/threads/jf-captain-jerks.31096/ You can scroll down and see a pic of the same rock. I didn’t head the warnings :/

    Free Zoa Rock

Quite possibly. I do think it is actually a paly and not a zoa. I run my light closer to 10k so there is not a lot of pop in the color in the pic above. I’m terrible with coral/zoa names and didn’t ask what it was when I originally got it.

    Free Zoa Rock

I have a softball size (maybe a tad larger) rock with Zoas on it that needs a new home. Pick up in Oakley (evenings and weekend) or Martinez (during the week.). They grow very fast and outcompete other zoas. There are a few other brighter green zoas still on the rock. ~Charlie

9/18/22 (Sun) Open Regional Frag Swap at Cali Kid Corals in Concord

There is a hardware in the same parking lot. I will swing in there and see if I can pick up 3 large mixing buckets with lids when I get there this morning.
