Bayer Advanced Complete Insect Killer bug spray…to treat red bugs and other pests.

A few people asked about the Bayer Advanced Insect Killer at the swap last Saturday so I wanted to bring this post back up to the top. I've been using the same stuff that Brian has pictured in post #11. What I do after acclimating the corals to tank water is dip in the Bayer for 15...

2013 Regional Frag Swap Help Thread

I just wanted to reiterate what Sergio said here. Thanks again for all of you assistance with the swap! It really takes a solid group of volunteers like we had on Saturday to make this go as smooth as it did. We greatly appreciate your dedication. ~Charlie

Using Plexiglass scrap as frag plugs

Should be just fine. That actually sounds like a really good idea. There are a couple of vendors that make acrylic plugs now but probably a little to small for what you're thinking. Post some pics!

    Pump suggestions for Piper

A buddy of mine from work has been in 3 or 4 plane accidents/crashes and survived. If it were me, the only way I'd ever get on a plane again after the first one is B. A. Baracus/A-Team style. This is really making me think again on these things. Maybe I'll give it a a few months and see...

    Pump suggestions for Piper

Yep. I think it's a bit too early to get excited about them as being a replacement for anything but Koralias at this point. Give it a year or two and we'll see what happens. I'll still pick up two of the smaller units when they come out and give them a shot.

    Pump suggestions for Piper

So while I was saving up my pennies for a MP-40, or two, I ran across the Jebo (Jebao) WP-40 on the ReefAngel forum and the ReefCentral forum and thought I'd give one a shot. I got it today and wow, this thing can move some water! There is a "W1" wave mode built into the controller and...

Denzil's 10 Gallon (Temporary) Nano Tank

Rinse the sponges in a bucket of tank water to get the pods out. Then you can use a baster to get the pods and toss em back into the tank.

    2500 gallon Koi pond

They don't look lopsided at all in that pic! Looks Great Jon. I think channel cats and crappie instead of Koi would be better. You can get a little fishing in while you're sitting on the porch couch :)

Denzil's 10 Gallon (Temporary) Nano Tank

Are you adding Mg to the tank? Seems just a little high if you're not dosing it but should not be too much of an issue. I ran my Mg that high for a while shortly after I started up my tank to help with hair algae. I wouldn't worry too much about Ca either. Nitrates went from 0 - 20 in 4...

Bringing DBTC threads to the new site

+1 with iCon. And also what Tony said here: That sounds like a good and fair plan to me. I know there is a huge workload to make this happen. If it is indeed possible to move all the threads I will volunteer to work on the older threads, as time permits, to keep the relevant but...

HELP! Jay's TBD tank thread! (planning phase)

I like the Kessil A350 too. A narrow would be best for a cube that size I think. That might be more light than you really need for LPS and softies though.

    Piper's 65 Gallon Tank

Denzil - I missed that rainbow acan! I passed up the LPS table on the first round and went straight to the SPS table. mediumrare - I made it. I wanted it to match the stand and canopy and I made it to fit exactly in the space I had to maximize storage. I have the Sketchup file handy if...

    Piper's 65 Gallon Tank

Thanks for the comments! I just got it cleaned up and organized about a month ago. Up till then I had all those containers on the floor where the cabinet now sits and all the dosing pumps screwed into the wall. The cabinet definitely helped to improve the "wife factor". On top of that, now I...
