    Cutting up my live rock

I'm contemplating cutting up my live rock. Has anyone used a regular hack saw to do it? Looking for the most efficient way to do this. Also, if anyone can offer tips, it would be great. I'm looking to cut up the live rock with the coral on it to separate things out.

    speedstir magnetic stirrer!

https://reefbuilders.com/2016/02/03/step-up-your-water-testing-with-speedstir-magnetic-stirrer/ i wonder how easy it would be to accidentally mess pressing the power button, only to push down on one side and spill everything. the base seems very narrow

    Algae control

huh. i did not know that. I've had a few forms of nuisance algae, none of which my UV prevented.

    Algae control

a UV doesn't really get rid of algae. I have one, and the only place the algae grows, is on the UV itself. I've since removed it and no noticeable difference in my tank.

    Concern about live rock

+1 to using regular tap water. I used regular tap water and used lanthanum chloride (ie pool phosphate remover). Tested phosphates every other week until it wouldn't drop below ~.12-.14 after two or three months. I didn't use muriatic acid, and I think I should have done that in the first...
