So I will be bringing a SKY for show and tell. Thinking about bringing a small tank to put the lights over but just thinking about the water needed and its kinda useless without corals to put it over, so the tank may not happen.

    Apex and Sicce

As I said, the Sicce doesn't connect to the Apex so distance between the 2 doesn't matter.

    Apex and Sicce

So your Sicce controller is losing connection to your router. Its not really connected to your Apex. The Apex listens for the Sicce wifi connection and 'intercepts' it (overly simplified). So if the connection between the controller and the router is not working, the Apex won't be able to...

Chromis never learned how to eat again after changing feeder

The AFS is like a dinner bell for the fish once they learn that the sound = food. Sorry for your loss.

    What does the industry need?

Icecap had a submersible camera for a little bit. Don't know why it was discontinued. It was called the IceCap Reef-Cam. I'm on the kickstarter campaign for Moai. Still vaporware.

Do it yourself air to water cooler brain storming.

Use those fans to blow across the top of your tank or your sump. Evaporative cooling is very effective.

How hot did your tanks get today?

Heat soak. Is the garage by itself? Meaning there is no structure above it?

    Hot

I have bottles filled with RODI that I leave frozen for emergency use. If the bottles leak, no problem.

    Hot

regular ice made from the tap has all the impurities that we filter out to make RODI. Those ice cubes could contain copper and other metals. I suggest running poly filter immediately

    Hot

Did you make ice with RODI or used ice from the freezer?

    Suggestions for calcium reactor

Iirc, there is a setting that saves the current setting and stays the same after a power loss. Which masterflex do you have?

    Hot

15deg cooler there. Even when the outside hit 104, it stayed around 80. Max was 80.5.

    Suggestions for calcium reactor

With a carbon doser, you basically set the bubble rate using a dial vs adjusting the regulator and counting the seconds between bubbles. On the sicce, yes. It is used as a feed pump and you adjust the drip rate with the needle valve. If you use a peristaltic pump, you do not need either. You...

    Garage tank. Yay for fans!

    Suggestions for calcium reactor

My recommendations: Ditch the Sicce feed pump. Pick up a peristaltic pump that will do continuous duty like the Kamoer FX-STP. I use a Cole-Parmer which is medical grade. With a peristaltic pump, you can ditch the needle valve which is prone to clogging. There are other CalRx to choose...

    B-Ionic & Trident

The limit % determines what is the maximum deviation from your baseline that you are allowing if 100ml is the nominal dose and you’ve set. 40% limit, 140ml is the max and 60ml is the minimum. If those limits are met and more adjustment in that direction is required, the Apex will go back to...
