must see/must do things in NOLA?

Oh, no worries Durwin- ACME has been on the list since the beginning. She doesn't love oysters, but if she wants commanders then it was my tradeoff. Mothers was a possibility, one friend recommended it highly. Jacque and Cochon were also maybies, depends how often we end up getting food.

must see/must do things in NOLA?

haha great comments guys. Sorry, it is New Orleans. I got so used to writing NOLA in my notes to myself/gf that I just use it instead of writing the whole thing. I've thought about Mardi Gras world. I'd love to spend hours shooting there (nice shots btw) but the gf isn't in to the whole picture...

    Corner tank overflow help?

FWIW, a 400w (or even 250) looks great in a Lumenarc III over a 3'x3'x2' high "cube". 120g IIRC. Man I miss having tanks that size/shape. If you put it in a canopy, putting 4x 4' or 3' actinic t5's w/ indiv reflectors aimed inward at an angle you can get some nice colors.

must see/must do things in NOLA?

Heading there tomorrow morning for the weekend. I know it's a little late, and we already have a couple of reservations etc but anything that stands out as a must do?

Some fish were made to eat!

Con- yup. 3 generations fishing for 3 days- pulled in ~300lbs cleaned fish. Will trade salmon for frags :D Jar Glad to hear there was a good bite somewhere. I've been hearing mixed reviews from all over the place.

    Anemone Attachment

Ooh, that's a good one. I want to see how the others answer it. But FWIW I've always just had carpets attach to the glass under the sand. I suppose if you're running eggcrate under sand then you could potentially use a flat piece of rock or a piece of acrylic for it to attach to?

    taller skinny water container? ~5g

Anyone know where I can pick up a top-off container somewhere around 6-8" wide? I guess something like those containers you see on the backs of Jeeps.

what should I include in my "clean-up crew"

So if you had a hermit tank w/out snails and only small hermits. Would they all die rather quickly in the presence of food due to no larger shells to upgrade to? I'd imagine exposure =death for them?

    resealed seams...good to go?

It's on actual glass, no worries there. I think I might go with the eurobracing idea. At the very least, it's somewhere I can store more tank-related crap.

    resealed seams...good to go?

Guess I could always just reinforce with a square plexi rod siliconed in the corners? Or add eurobracing on the top and double up the bottom?

    resealed seams...good to go?

Does it matter whether I resealed with the RTV stuff or whatever it is vs GE I? (referring to strength capabilities, not any possible microbial effects)

    resealed seams...good to go?

Thanks guys. Yeah, Mike & Jess I know the silicon between panels is the strength. I'm just worried a little because water coming out of the box = one of those seams is not completely solid through and through. Ideally in the next year or 5 I'll upgrade to a brand new tank (for once) and...

    resealed seams...good to go?

So my 40L had a nice very very slow leak, yadda yadda. Emptied and cleaned it. I scraped most of the old silicon off, cleaned the glass, and resealed the inside seams. NOTE: I did not totally dismantle the tank and put it back together. But all the inside seams now have new silicon on them. 24hr...

Help please: water cleanup on hardwood floors

Sorry, only experience I"ve had with real hardwood was taking it out, and each plank was nailed. Pergo was installed floating, don't worry. I figure I'll run down the list that Trey posted.

Help please: water cleanup on hardwood floors

What I was saying is that it's not true hardwood floors that are nailed down. I know what pergo is...had to do a whole house full of it before. So it's prefab planks. I really don't think that I can replace the loors though. That's the shame. Unless I tear some up from inside a closet. Thanks...
