I did switch to rowaphos for my po4 media and did not realize how fast it depletes so my phosphates were at 0.15 recently, I went back to regular GFO media. My nitrates also had hovered around 10 ppm for a while and were now at 25 ppm which may be due to me not emptying my algae reactor often...

I’ve both siphoned out sand that had cyano and used a turkey baster to sort of blast the top layer without noticing any ill effect, but I would say use caution and be ready to siphon out in case you accidentally stir up too much, especially if you haven’t touched the sandbed in a long time

I had the other problem where they weren’t eating it on the clip but they love the grazer. Definitely give it a few days, one of my favorite overpriced goods for my tank
