Gone - PIF - Sand sifting starfish

It lost half of his leg already and it does not look like if my sandbed is dirty enough. Hopefully someone can take him this week as I will be on vacation next week until June 20.

Yes, I heard that's what they are famous for.

While many had fun at the CFM today, others had to work hard. I have done the most difficult thing in my live, catching a yellow tang in my tank. I gave myself a less than 50% chance of success but after approx 15 min, and with the help of my son, we were surprisingly successful...

    Obligatory CFM post

Any interesting NPS there? I would love to get some of these black tubastreas - forgot their actual name.

    Versa dosing amount issues

To close the loop on my post, this is the setting to fix these out-of-sync issues. They are now working well again - until the next error. Will check this at least weekly now - have set a reminder. Tested my water today for alk and CA and all still good.

    Versa dosing amount issues

Yes, I simply do not think the other pumps are better, except the sole, but that is a beast in terms of size, and I am not sure where and how to mount two of them. And it would be too big for my nano. I would love to switch all Hydros though. But what bothers me the most is that for 17 days I...

My yellow tang has been a troubled child for a while. I noticed now she is not eating, or barely eating anymore - and has become far too thin now. This is unfortunately terrible timing since I will be going on vacation in a little over a week. The plan is now to try to catch her tomorrow - with...

    Versa dosing amount issues

Three of my four Ectotech Versa dosing pumps did not dose the proper amounts - probably for a week or more now (poor timing so shortly before vacation). Most of them less than instructed, one of them a little more but not too much. I played around with the settings and saw this feature, and it...

Yes, so I have the velcros and the zip ties. Not sure how you guys do this though but I clean my equipment on a regular basis, gyres every 12 weeks, same as media reactors, MP40s etc. I calibrate probes, PH, ORP, temp, so none of this seems to qualify to be zipe tied or velcroed to each other...

Several hours of work unplugging everything, labeling what was not labeled. I am not happy at all with the result. But I also created this in the process:

    Oceanic 40gallon Sps tank.

I did not know you get an alert when either ofther the two probes goes bad - good to know. Also, re my calibration comment - I was referring to around 0.2/0.3 F deviation every 4 weeks or so max, so not a huge deal (but the hydros seems to be more stable).

5/18 Party Party Party! HTA is 3 years old! Anniversary Party!

Congrats on 3 years Kenny. My go-to store for all things that truly matter - healthy professionally quarantined fish, and high quality fish food. I also buy other stuff from you but this is something that matters the most to me personally. I cannot come by today - too much to do for my longer...

    Oceanic 40gallon Sps tank.

Interesting. I have been thinking about this too, i.e., if I have to see via display what is happening in my tank. Both the inkbird and the Hydros provide an audio signal if temps are out of range and I do rely on this, including backup. I prefer to have at least two temp sources in my tank...

I used to like the KASA power strips but have now almost entirely switched to Hydros.

    DBTC: LaZys Hybrid Blue Zing

@L/B Block - I know you wanted one but the initial one I had got stung by another in the frag tank, and is still alive, but will probably not make it. However, I just cut three more, two larger pieces and one small piece - they are all available now.
