    3d printed UV filter

I was looking for something small to fit existing 13watt UV bulb into tiny space in my sump and having 3d printer I can’t spend couple hundred bucks on plastic enclosure - just designed and printed my own with PETG filament - even if it will survive a year its enough - I connected it to small...

The one Alex mentioned should fit - I haven't tried it

Skimmer pump needed for Skimz Mini SN123. The pump model is: VSC1200-DC

Yep, and it's very unrealible - I'm on my third pump already and this one was bad from the beginning. BRS refused to send me replacement without getting this one back first and "inspecting" that would take at least couple weeks. I guess they aware how bad those pumps are. It stops by itself...

Skimmer pump needed for Skimz Mini SN123. The pump model is: VSC1200-DC

The brs 1.2 pump will work but like all skimz pumps will dye in less than a year - I cut the flow with supplied restrictor and set power to 30-40% Very bad qc - if jebao works I would get it instead and just use impeller. The skimz crap doesn’t worth 100+ bucks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Palmers blue Millie (Bondolo)

I have another wonderful frag of this millie. I was feeding my tank with frozen food and my clown always attacks my fingers and bites. She's a little big and fat - this time she was too fast and hit the millie colony and broke peace of it

    Reefer 170 reborn

Thank you - I saw your DBTC post - really nice of you! Unfortunately it's little too far from me but once tank is settle I will definitely look there - mine was part of DBTC also.

    Reefer 170 reborn

Thank you Mike! I guess the one I had came from your tank too :) It was gorgeous for couple years and grown almost over the tank top.

    Reefer 170 reborn

Short update - I heard each tank has it's ups and downs - looks like my went down for some reason. Some of my SPS where STNed and covered by algae ( I guess dino ) and I trimmed and removed it - the large colony of birdsnest and my favorite green slimer went to the garbage can. At the same time...

I guess I can use flex silicon and run it without emptying the tank - I'm a little scared to have any water lines outside the tank though...

That's why I'm trying to keep everything inside the sump which is not an easy task! Probably will get aquaultraviolet 15W with small pump and put it in the sump upside-down - with outlet underwater, and bulb housing higher than waterline.

I have red sea reefer tank - there are no holes on the stand sides and kinda hard to reach back wall.

It's unclear to me too - that's why I ask for opinion ;) According to their chart even 8W would be enough for algae in the long term

I'm taking it with grain of salt (from aquaultraviolet.com): Reef Tanks -A UV rated in the 30,000-45,000 columns is ideal for the reef environment .UV’s rated at higher kill rates will destroy the planktonic food supply for the reef. I can only return water to the sump so the return rate will...

I have quite a lot of green algae on the glass - grows fast and hard to clean. I'm not taking their info as is - just thinking maybe it's way too much flow/uv, especially considering space or better say lack of it in the sump. And even than the only unit I can fit there is something submersible.

Hmm - according to aqua UV specs it needs way more flow: Salt Water Sterilizer: up to 75 gallons; Flowrate - 233gph for 90,000 µw/cm2 Looks like an overkill for 40 gal, isn't it?
