    Hermit's tank crash: Nuvo 8

Thanks for the offer! I could preserve one branch from the original colony. I'll watch over the next few days how the frag does. If it does not survive, I'll reach out to you for a tiny frag. I am located in Sunnyvale. Where are you located? Thanks again :)

    Hermit's tank crash: Nuvo 8

I have two clowns, a shrimp, 2 astrea snails, 1 trochus snail, 1 nassarius snail and a hermit crab. All seem to be doing okay after the crash. I just feel bad for the clowns. They have been hosting the hammer coral for more than 6 months and the coral isn't doing too good after the crash. Just...

    Hermit's tank crash: Nuvo 8

Yes, that seems like the most likely cause. However I rinsed it with RO water few times before putting it in the tank.

    Hermit's tank crash: Nuvo 8

It happened about 3 weeks ago. I was so shattered, it was my first tank crash. My tiny Nuvo 8 had been running for about 11 months. On a Friday late after work, I was due to change about 1 gallon of water. Also, the purigen that I had recharged, was bleached, dechlorinated and ready to be...

Thinking of getting a tank, a few questions

@pbh-reef I've been using Glacier water from Safeway for my 8 gallon nano tank for the past year and never had problems. I've tested the the water for TDS on few occasions and its usually between 2-6. I perform water change every 10-12 days.

Free zoas, rock with GSP etc. (all gone)

Basically, multi-colored zoas on a single rock. Currently I have some rainbow infusions, rastas, Fire and Ice, bam bams on separate rocks. Grand plan is to glue them all on a wide flat rock.

Free zoas, rock with GSP etc. (all gone)

To anyone else looking for Mohawks: I wouldn't be able to collect the Mohawks from @enaldy until later next week. If anyone can collect it before that please go ahead! I'll hit him up again later next week to see if its available. ~ Piyush

AI Prime HD vs Kessil A160WE

I don't completely understand this. Why would kessil show 20% less than what it is? Also why can't be PAR compared? Could you point me to a resource? Such a tough decision to make!

AI Prime HD vs Kessil A160WE

@Coral reefer Currently I mainly have Euphyllias, Zoanthids and few low light SPS like birdsnest. I am looking for something that'll be strong enough for my future tank (Lagoon 25 which is about 24” x 20” x 12”) in case I try out higher light corals.

AI Prime HD vs Kessil A160WE

I currently own a Nuvo 8 gallon tank and am planning to get a Lagoon 25 in future. Which light would you guys recommend? Looking at the PAR comparisons on AquaIllumination's website, the Prime seems to beat the Kessil. http://www.aquaillumination.com/science/par.html I'd also like to know the...

Some closure on this post: The clowns seem to be getting along well now. Will observe for next few weeks.

    Clownfish maturity age?

Placing the bigger clownfish in an acclimation box for about 45 hours and changing some rock work seems to have reduced some aggression. This also gave the little guy some time to heal. Hoping that they won't fight unto death again.
