I just don't run my CaRx when my lights are off. This way it affect the pH less. Typically your corals are not consuming the Ca or Alk when the lights are off.
So, the way I have mine controlled, the CaRx peristaltic pump and CO2 are only allowed to be on during the lighting period. But my apex will turn off both if the dkH is over 8.
Just changed my schedule to do 2 tests in the middle of the day and skip the midnight test. This will help lessen my alk swing as my CaRx is controlled by the trident.
How do you do this? I want to check alk frequently but only when the lights are on. I could care less about b/c. If I could only test Alk that would be great.
