    Huge thanks

It’s 60”x24”x21 tall, so my math says about 125 gallons. I saw it once or twice when it was running, and it looked great. He had some really nice, big pieces growing.

    Huge thanks

Yep, I feel like it was a right place, right time situation, for me at least. Super stoked to have lucked into his setup, and to have help from a few folks in to club to get it into my place. Now I just need to not think about moving for a few more years ;)

    Help Fragging Toadstool

If you put a large frag plug or piece of rubble under the part that’s dropping, it’ll probably attach to it, separate from the original by itself and then you end up with a nice, mounted frag.

    Huge thanks

Just want to post a huge thank you to @Srt4eric, @bee505, and @Coral reefer for all of the help and patience getting this huge, heavy, gorgeous tank moved and up an unreasonable amount of stairs and into my apartment. You guys are awesome. I’ll be starting a journal for this beast soon.

Zoa Island taken over by Captain Jerks

This may not be a popular option, but I’ve had good luck using coral snips to gently peel offending zoas/palys off rock. I get them to close up, clip under one and gently am able to scrape underneath with the snips and pull quite a few off at once. I wear a pair of arm length gloves, have carbon...

    DBTC: Oregon mummy eye chalice

And the funny thing is, I actually participated in that DBTC - even put 2 frags back into it. I also was under the impression this is a slightly different piece. Received this as the oregon though (as I recall).

    New product reveal!

Hmmm, it’s the “used to” part I’m worried about… got this little one waiting for his tank to arrive this weekend. And 5 clams I’d like him to share space with.

    New product reveal!

Gorgeous… So I see a copper banded butterfly fish… mind if I ask how long you’ve had it? Any chance you’ve tried keeping tridacnid clams with it?

Looking for some experience based perspective

I’ve scrounged around various other forums, and haven’t really found anyone post about a situation like mine, so I’m hoping to hear about experiences from folks who may have done something similar, to help me guide how I approach this. I just purchased a complete, 5’x2’ footprint, 125 gal...

    Need a little help...

For analysis like this, I believe the assumption is they will not send back any remaining sample. Also, as I understand it, the results are reported online, so there is no physical report.

    Zoa ID?

Picked these up at a frag swap years ago, I think they were labeled “Pink zoas”. Do these have a name, so I know what to call them when I bring some to the swap? If there’s interest, I’ll start a DBTC as well. Thanks!
