    The fine print

Hmmm.... I wonder if it is a chemical concern, or just liability since these will scratch acrylic.

    A700 Settings

Robert, I did damage to my wallet yesterday, picking up an A700 at the store. I am getting ready to expand to SPS (more Neptune damage to my wallet). I'd like to match A700 settings you are using to increase my chances of success. Can you share your settings? Thanks, Jim

    Back in the Saddle

Greetings, friends. I have returned after a long absence starting in January. I had to bury my father, and was named executor of the will. Never agree to this unless you have lots of time on you hands, and don't mind dealing with contentious relatives, accountants, tax specialists and...

    Anyone used one of these?

Wow! I like the ClariSea MUCH better. I have been attempting to work out how to plumb the other big box version, but can't find the space. This could work!

    Biocube 29, The Resurrection

Plus, based upon where it was manufactured, it could contain some lead (it's not supposed to, but then toy paint is not supposed to contain lead either )

    Mike's newest disaster...

So very true. I am beginning to think that it is going to be easier/better to simply start over on mine, one side at a time

    Rock structure building

When you have a third, you need to move from "one on one" defense to "zone defense". Not to be attempted by amateurs o_O

    Dosing hydrogen peroxide

That is the theory, but it may take some time to eliminate completely all off the undesirable algae types.

Generic replacement for tunze power supply 6055.240

For the power you are drawing, 24 AWG is fine. Only concern would be about breakage if moved around too much or exposed to stress.

    Sump Question

My tank transfer rockwork experience is testament to this. I am grappling deciding between in-tank repairs, pulling out rock and re-doing, and starting all over with all new rockwork.

    Randy's Red Sea Reefer 250

Thanks for the cool lead on scalpel blades. I have been using exacto with marginal results. +1 on the palytoxin and cuts. I've seen the pictures. They are not pretty.

Vince, Congrats on taking three weeks away! BTW, there are several of us that are willing to check in on a tank every other day or so if we are local. Jim

    Advice on an urchin

I have sunk Nori to the bottom of the tank, held down by a couple of small rocks. The urchin typically finds it. If not, I gently grab it with long tongs and place it directly on the nori. It gets the idea pretty quickly :)
