Porites. I believe it is the tyree- pink polyps with a kinda light blueish silverish base. It started as a thumbnail frag. I left it on the frag plug way too long so it started to bowl out in shape rather than encrust. So I have just let it keep on bowling out. Its still moveable. Maybe size of...

Just shy of a year update lol. It is trying. During a water change last weekend I noticed more peach/orange from the top down perspective. Not much more size though.

BRS RODI leak + pressure gauge reading 0??

You could try tightening and if that does not work then plan on replacing. I believe you do have to take the canisters off of the frame to get access to the NPT nipples. I took a really quick glance on youtube to see if I could find a video replacing them for you but had no luck wading through...

BRS RODI leak + pressure gauge reading 0??

The plastic pieces that connect each canister to one another tend to crack easily. Maybe that could be causing the leak.

    Kalk containers

I have used two brands of kalk in the reactor. Avast (rebranded Mississippi lime if i remember correctly) and BRS. The stir bar seems to like the Avast brand more, it spins more freely it seems. I do the same kinda style as @divewsharks . Add more every other week and do a dump and full clean...

    Kalk containers

My pump is set at a continuous rate of 1.7ml/minute when lights are off. Shy of 1.5 liters total a night. Those numbers are not exact but just an idea (I have not calibrated the dosing pump in a couple years).

    Kalk containers

ATO- I don't think this is how the avast is intended to run. I utilize the ecotech dosing pump at a set ml/minute rather than letting an ATO pump dose way too much at a time, inconsistantly. The pump pulls water from my ato container and pushes into the avast reactor which then drips out kalk...

What's your favorite Dremel bit for fragging?

Thanks, I grabbed some of those @JVU. Band saws are great but far away from Livermore. Borrowing equipment most often requires picking up and delivering. I use the Dremel for fragging euphyllia mostly. I should have mentioned that.

    Hi everyone!

If you need something small and budget friendly, check out the micro ato's at Aquatic Collection. My experience with them over the years has been all good. I probably cleaned the sensor 1-3 times a year but I also do not have light hitting the sensor. I do not light my sump. Recently I starting...

Tanks with high salinity (according to tank sitter)

Yes, your variables are much greater than mine with all your tanks spread over norcal with the tool and water traveling with you.

Tanks with high salinity (according to tank sitter)

I pre-warm the droplet tray for this reason. I fill the tray with tank water, let it sit a few seconds to warm the cold metal, remove water, then new water and click test button.

Thanks Derek. The green is spongodes montipora. The end goal was to remove the rock with the spongodes and forest fire to make room for slower growers but one of the anthias has made a tunnel and home through the middle of the spongodes which has been enjoyable to watch. The game is afoot...
