I think this may have been part of my transition to coarser/heavier/larger grain sand - WAVEMAKERS! You end up with a pile of the finer stuff in a corner after it's been blasting around, clouding up the tank. This is even more noticeable in a nano.

I picked up a used Red Sea Reefmat-500 for $150. Guy bought it, apparently ignored the SALTWATER ONLY part in the description... couldn't get it to work right, after two months working with Red Sea support, they (Red Sea Support) finally realized it was freshwater... the sensor isn't calibrated...
