What do you use for Mg supplement?

I use Red Sea blue bucket which mixes to 8 dKH. It seems like high dKH mixes like this are intended to replenish alkalinity (and other stuff) with water changes. I don't think this is optimal since it introduces Alk swings. I try to keep my alkalinity under 10 dKH since I always notice problems...

Yep. I've busted my hand plenty of times breaking open the canisters with short plastic wrenches. More radius = less force and also puts your hand further away from colliding with other stuff. I'll have to pick one of these up.

My last test was 1050 ug/l (over a year ago). I just mailed out a new one, but I expect it to be high like the last two measurements. Interesting, I wonder if it is coming from my Magnesium supplement. I'm tempted to send out a sample of freshly mixed SW to rule out my salt mix.

The one I got from @t0mmy108 grew a new polyp in the 2.5 weeks since I've had it. Seems to grow about as fast as my other Zoas. I keep mine in lower PAR (~100) with a little bit of nutrients (2.5ppm NO3, 0.1ppm PO4).

2nd what @Coral reefer and @MichaelB said. Speaking from experience. I had to move my reef tank across town, and having separate removable rock structures glued together made moving everything easier.

Pods can never hurt. I'll try adding some. Worst case I still have cyano but my wrasse gets a buffet... Was there a specific species you added?
