That sucks. Both options have it's risks... don't tell them and if they find out, they later make u shut it down after you have it running for a few years... or if you try to take it up with the HOA, they would likely just say sorry... 130g isn't close to the 20, hehe.

I'm probably about 1.5 miles away... pretty sad... lost lives and so many people's houses. Everything where I'm at had power, but a friend who lives maybe half a mile away from the fire was without electricity for a while.

I use a plastic scraper and manually get it, but there must be a better way.

Thanks for the first suggestions. Please keep them coming. I'm really wanting to find as cool a tank as possible :) Do people really add DIY canopies on these rimless tanks? Does it defeat the purpose of the rimless tank?

I rarely use gloves... I got the coralife ones a long time ago and they were kind of thick and I didn't have enough feeling when trying to move corals, etc. It's definitely safer to... but I probably won't.

I can be a coral runner, checkin or registration any time or the whole time 11-1.

I vote for surface skimming. I've had my tank without it before and the layer of stuff at top is really unattractive. It collects too much junk on the surface.
