Which acro has the most fluorescent green?

This pink pincushion urchin was on my neon green candlelight acro (purchased from AQUASD) for a long time. So I knocked it away just to make sure.... and found out that the urchin was literally munching all over the acro. Sadly the acro died today. So the question is which acro has the most...

Took some more pictures today. Sony a7II + 50mm 0.98 & 24-70mm 2.8 EF were used. Shallow depth of field if not the most ideal lens for reef tank photography but it provides an interesting unusual look. :) The presentation of the aquascape is not as nice without sandbed, but I am happy that my...

Talk to me about filter sock cleaning

Just an idea, you could use a wide foam pad (higher density type) next to the baffle (also above the baffle) and wash it weekly with tap water and rinse with RODI. Not as good as 50 - 100 micron filter sock but more convenient since you never have to use a washing machine. :D I used to use...

My OG bounce was running out of space to grow, so I took it out of the water and added more 2 part epoxy base. :)

Opinion on bacteria & carbon dosing

Actually agree with that, 6 months is a bit too short to call it a long-term success.

Opinion on bacteria & carbon dosing

Thanks for the tips!!! All of my SPS are individually glued to a 2-3" rock and then glued on the big rock so I can move them around however I want. Eventually, I think I will be fragging a lot, my hope is that in the future when the corals become too big I can cut them to make the exact shape...

Opinion on bacteria & carbon dosing

Thanks for the advice! Definitely agree that stability, water flow, lighting, and water changes are the key since I have seen plenty of amazing tanks without dosing bacteria or carbon source.

Opinion on bacteria & carbon dosing

Thanks for sharing. Brightwell CEO says (5:20 in the video) that corals in the wild eat consume eat "bacterioplankton" which is bacteria floating in the ocean and we can do the same thing in our tank which is a good source of live food. Dr Tim also says that bacterias are "gut loaded by N and P"...

Opinion on bacteria & carbon dosing

Thanks for the advice. I have been overlooking the carbon source method as I don't have a skimmer but I can definitely see why it is useful.

Opinion on bacteria & carbon dosing

Hi Qwiv, My tank is actually thriving currently with consistent parameters (I test twice a week). My goal here is to find out the best practice for overall coral health and color :)

Opinion on bacteria & carbon dosing

Agreed. As my tank is getting filled with corals, I need to feed fish more to get adequate nutrient levels. It is much easier than manual dosing and also seems better for overall coral health.

Opinion on bacteria & carbon dosing

Thanks for the tip! I thought to myself that surface agitation + and surface skimming might be enough for the gas exchange but I should not risk it! :)

Opinion on bacteria & carbon dosing

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I updated the list above to reflect your input. I got very curious about this topic last night and wanted to clarify what I know so far. I only dose bacteria since I don't have a skimmer. Based on what I know so far, for normal healthy reef tanks, it looks...

Thanks so much for sharing, it is lots of info to take in. Just to make sure, I think I will stop using it for now and see if there are any improvements in the coloration and health of the corals. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/my-speculation-vibrant-has-some-fluconazole-in-it.867114/
