    210 gallon Dream tank

Having a gasket on the nut side can easily lead to the gasket twisting when tightening the nut. Having the gasket on the outside will stop the overflow box from leaking.

    210 gallon Dream tank

This is not correct. No gasket is needed in the external overflow box. Gasket in tank between flange and glass and gasket between exterior of tank and exterior of overflow box.

    210 gallon Dream tank

The box is made specifically made with that offset on the top of the box to accommodate tanks with trim. Did you try different bulkheads? Assuming that the box itself is not leaking, using two gaskets on each bulkhead is plenty for it not to leak as long as there are no large chips on the...

    Derek's 225g - Magnifica / SPS Reef

I have chaetogro on a Versa doser sitting on a magnetic stirrer. Stirrer turns on a couple minutes before dosing. If you're going to auto dose, I'd recommend doing the same as sediment does settle on the bottom fairly quickly.

Slight chips are not bad. Chips that will need silicon are ones where the gasket does not have enough completely flat surface area to create a seal. I've made some nasty chips that I wouldn't think would seal, that actually do. If you make me guess, I'd say if the chip is big enough that at any...

    210 gallon Dream tank

A gasket sheet really shouldn't be any better than a gasket ring. The seal comes as the compression of the gasket forming a seal from pressure directly from the flange and nut. If there isn't enough pressure which would be the case for any part of the gasket sheet not under then flange and nut...

    210 gallon Dream tank

I've been through more modular marine overflows than I can count. Here's some general suggestions. 1. You should only need a bulkhead in two spots. In the tank (between bulkhead flange and tank) and one between the outside of tank and the external overflow box. Using a bulkhead in the external...

Most epic Cocktails and Coral Talk event to date!

Unfortunately, I'm not able to attend, but I'm sure it'd be interesting to hear their take on antibiotics in the industry, both for home treatments and the usage of antibiotics for prophylactic treatment. Especially in distribution/wholesale and LFSes where it's known that they run low doses of...

    optimal hose size for 1500gph

It won't kill flow per-say. The same amount of water will go into the pipe, it will will eventually run at a slower velocity. That can allow things to build up and eventually clog. That said, in our applications as an example, I don't think picking 1.25" vs 1" is going to make that much as long...

    Suggestions for tilting tank

Easy peasy. I think I drained at least halfway if not more. Also, I had no rock or sand in the tank at the time

Air shims are money btw! Love 'em. I used them for my 150 gallon. Post in thread 'Randy’s Flock o' Reef Tanks' https://www.bareefers.org/forum/threads/randy%E2%80%99s-flock-o-reef-tanks.32907/post-543708

    Suggestions for tilting tank

I would suggest composite shims and not wood shims. Wood shims will expand and then eventually deteriorate if (when) water gets on them. https://a.co/d/ip9dZXf

Looking for pictures (or videos) of successfully run tanks up to 50 gallon

Of course using cured, seeded and cycled rock will allow you to set up a tank faster. Have enough of it and you can have a fully loaded tank from day one. But two years even from dry rock seems far too long. I've had way too many tanks from 5 to 150 gallons. If I took two years to get a tank...

    9 footer disaster

You're asking for trouble. Get rid of that bendy stuff and epoxy. Recipe for another leak if you lean on that flexible drain wrong that epoxy will probably crack or become separated from the hard pvc connector.

    WYSIWYG Preorder SPS colonies

Specioas are evil mofos. I've been working on this one for a month or so. Already bleached it a little, but at least it's still alive. If you see any speciosa locally, let me know!

    Dangalang Laundry Room Frag Tank

Polycarbonate lid made from two pieces. If you want to get fancy, you could add a handle and use some weld-on to attach. I dremeled a hole on the backside for wiring. It's been used for about two years now. No warping.

Just find polycarbonate (do not used cast acrylic) from the scrap bin and cut to fit. Probably will cost you less than $5.
