    Where to find ORA corals

They're probably just using "birdsnest" as a catch all term for seriatopora. What we're looking for is probably not s. hystrix which is very thin and wiry. I'm more interested in s. stellata which has longer and thicker branches, or s. caliendrum which has the blunt tips...

    Where to find ORA corals

I'm actually interested in one with that growth pattern too. At one time I did see colonies of them for sale at Neptune. Mine has very thin branches and is really all over the place. Pink colony on top https://www.bareefers.org/forum/attachments/birdsnesets-jpg.67588/

    Where to find ORA corals

Let me know what you find. I'm looking for the pink birdsneset with green polyps https://www.orafarm.com/product/green-tip-pink-birdsnest/ I have the regular pink seriatopora hystrix birdsnest but I'm not a fan of the growth pattern. Too thin and messy

    The Mangrove Jungle

If anyone is interested in getting some orange spotted filefish, I may be ordering 2 more females. Benefit is split shipping cost ($70) and I could offer training them for you. With my two eating flakes like pigs I'm pretty confident that the new ones would catch on quick. Unfortunately my male...

    WYSIWYG Preorder SPS colonies

@RandyC speaking of mariculture, u might like this. I was in San Diego a couple weeks ago and checked out Kung Fu Corals when I had some time. They just brought in at least 15 speciosa colonies and many other deep waters the night before. They looked rough and speciosas being speciosas, maybe...

    Derek's 225g - Magnifica / SPS Reef

Could be the dreaded leopard polyclad flatworm. They're nocturnal and camouflages very well so they're hard to spot. Have you guys noticed an abundance of dead snails?

    Square Tanks

A tad smaller but there's the IM 112ext (36x36x20"). There's a former BAR guy near me that got out of the hobby a couple years ago with this tank, I think he might still have it for sale. Lmk if you want his contact.

Kalkwasser and SPS dominated Tanks 150-200g

Big one for me. With 2/3 part solution, I was always testing and fiddling with adjusting the individual dosing of ca, alk, and mg and they were often out of balance, but maybe that's my tank's problem. With a carx you can add in magnesium chips so you get alk, ca, and mg all in one. I only test...

Kalkwasser and SPS dominated Tanks 150-200g

210 gallon SPS dominated. I'm currently dripping 1.52 gallons of kalk a day and running my calcium reactor at 45ml/min to keep up with the demand. You could increase the evaporation by blowing a fan across the water. I don't though because I don't want to be mixing up a new 55g barrel of kalk...

    UV flow rate

Did some Googling. I didn't do a thorough read, but the headline I got from it is what I suspected. Total UV dosage (power x time) is more important that time or power alone. https://uvsolutionsmag.com/articles/2021/uv-c-intensity-time-and-total-dose-germicidal-efficacy/

Co2 tank fill in San Jose area

Yeesh looks like I paid a premium. I wonder if it's because I'm not on a business account or because I got "food grade" co2. Thanks for the recommendations!

Co2 tank fill in San Jose area

What's the going rates? I did a 10lb tank swap at Airgas in Hayward and it was like $60 + $30 in fees. Seemed high but my first time and didn't have any price points to compare to.

    The Mangrove Jungle

I'm surprised how quickly they acclimated too. I've had far more struggles with certain wrasses and seahorses. I plan on keeping them in this 30g tank which is a nice work distraction display in my office. As cool as they'd be in the main display, I don't want to risk them bothering my acros...

    Prime day reefing deals?

No amazing finds or deals but I did get these. I prefer these small super glue tubes that get one or two uses, because they all inevitably clog for me. $0.23 per tube which is enough for ~5 frags. https://www.amazon.com/Adhesive-Superglue-Cyanoacrylate-Plastics-Ceramics/dp/B0DMJP36WD/
