    RO/DI Upgrade

Ok the restrictors are here and the system is plumbed. I need to clean up the plumbing a little but its up and running. I have it in my garage right now which is after the pressure regulator for the house so I am only feeding it 45 PSI compared to 65 PSI in my filter shed. Even with the lower...

    RO/DI Upgrade

Greg, The problem for me is my RO is in a separate filter shed outside while my washer is upstairs on the other side of the house. Plus we have one of those new low water usage ones and I don't think you can just put water in them. As for injecting back into the main water line I would not...

    RO/DI Upgrade

I am planning on running the waste water out to some of the trees in my backyard. I have about 18 40+ year old redwoods on the property that have to be range from 60-80+ feet tall. So I figured it would be worth wile to put the waste water there.

    RO/DI Upgrade

I think I am going to be fine. I have a water feed to my filter room shed from before the house pressure regulator. So I am at about 65 PSI feeding the first membrane today. From there its my understanding that you lose about 10 PSI through the first membrane so the second one should be...

    RO/DI Upgrade

Well its finally that time. My 5+ year old 4 x 100 GPD Membrane RO/DI Unit is goners. Somehow the membranes have survived many 10s of thousands of gallons of RO water I have made over the years for all my systems. Over the last month the pressure has dropped from 65 PSI down to 30 PSI. I...

    680 Tank Tour

I am possibly open to showing my tanks if I am home that weekend. I am located in San Ramon about 2 miles off the freeway. I possibly have a work trip that weekend but should know my schedule in the next week or so. Systems include a 600g FOWLR system which includes a 12'x14' Shed/Filter...

    Bulbs for loan?

Anyone have a used pair of SE 400w Radium bulbs I can borrow? I currently have 12k Reeflux bulbs and am thinking of switching back over to radiums. I used to use them years ago when I have 250w bulbs on the system but want to see what 400w look like on the tank now. So does anyone have an old...

    The "Real" price of salt

I have gone though one 1050g barrel of Salinity so far and so good. The corals are definitely looking better than they did with reef crystals. Cost per gallon it is hard to beat.

    Aquavitro Salt Bucket

You should try moving one of the barrels of Aquavitro. There are no handles, grips or anything. Just a 350-375 lbs dead lift :(

    The "Real" price of salt

Yah that would be a costly brick :( At a minimum they will be sitting on a pallet double tarped. I am going to see if I can pickup a small little rubbermaid shed at home depot if I can fit it behind the filter shed in my back yard. Just not sure if I have the room or not. I am also planning...

Seachem's Aquavitro Salinity NOW IN STOCK!!!

They are about 350+ lbs a barrel. We had 5 people to move them off the box truck and down onto the ground. We could have gotten away with 4 people but would not want to to it with any less than that. There is just no where to grip the buckets and they are just hard to handle.

    The "Real" price of salt

As Tony said Salinity seems to be the best salt for the money right now. I just got my four buckets. They are a little heavier than my normal buckets :( Thanks Robert for the order of Salt.

Robert, Just wanted to say thanks for the Trio of Ventralis Anthias. So far so good. They are starting to pick at food already. They are still a little skittish but that is to be expected. I'll post some pictures soon.

    PG&E Rates

Cross posted from my thread on RC..... What the **** is up with PG&E. If you guys did not notice a major rate hike went into effect Jan 1st. The 3rd in the last 14 months. We are now paying 47.39 cents per KW/h at the top tier. This is just beyond ridiculous. They can say its expensive...

    Hosting Provider

So I saw Rich's post and figured I would ask a similar question. I current use godaddy for a virtual dedicated server. While it is fairly inexpensive per month I get only like 10gb of Disk Space. I would love to find an inexpensive colo provider here in the bay area I can put a server at. I...

    Seachem Reef Salt

and a non-calibrated refractometer can be off by 20-30% also. Remember you have to use a 35ppt calibration fluid to check them out DI water is not acceptable as the slope curve on every refractometer I have ever seen is off.
