I have never had my sump overflow, but have had mishaps with spills from the clean water hose flowing outside the sump during water changes, as well as a spill when refilling a dosing jug. I might be spill prone, but seems wise to protect the whole floor inside the stand.

My plate is overflowing right now and while it was exciting to get down a tank to start prepping for a mantis shrimp, I think I feel relieved you will give it a good home!

I could set up a 20g long tank with sand and a rocky hideout (and PVC?) for this guy but would need to cycle it and refresh myself on what his needs are. I thought he needed a big tank but maybe I'm mistaken. I once had a mantis shrimp in a glass tank and he never smashed it. I am not sure how...

The shrimp could be hiding out in your rock. I have sworn mine were gone, only to see them swaying upside down in rocky caves and coming out to take bits of fish when I fed the tank.

Hmm. I had a live rock hitchhiker red mantis for awhile when I set up a tank. It was awesome and entertaining but I do not currently have a setup ready. Do you have it isolated? Does it come out or stay hidden unless being fed?

It is light tan and very soft and tries to cover the bottom glass. Also shown here on tiles and a skeleton. Blows around easily when disturbed. Would an algae blenny eat this? Any other consumers?

Anybody going to the swap at CaliKid need these two NIB mounts for Current USA Orbit/Satellite lights? They stick out too far (15") for our narrow tank.

In the same vein, is anyone experiencing brown-out conditions? At the outlets, our voltage is 100 during the heat of the day, then bumps back up in the night. We have not checked it anywhere else yet. Is this PG&E's doing or due to power line equipment and heat or our own wiring?

@Bolicks I’m right there with you except with different algae. Was going to tear down and start over but haven’t done it yet. Pitho crab eats eats eats but algae is faster.
