Well you called it @tribbitt -I was talking to someone over the weekend who unleashed his starfish on two tanks full of mushrooms. Won't touch them. Bah! At least saved me the aggravation of having to move crabs and LPS out of tank first for no benefit

Ok -it looks like using a chocolate chip starfish to eradicate mushrooms is not going to work -so kalk it is to keep them under control I have a small syringe taken from a testing kit that I created that has a plastic edge to help pierce them. Issue is I am using 1:1 tablespoon kalk fo water...
