I agree with Bryan. As I recall from the last big earthquake the multiple tanks (4-5 20-40g tanks) suffered minimally as far as splashing. We took care of ourselves first - tanks came wayyyyyyy afterwards.

8-9 months might need replacement. I know they recommend filter replacement every six months - I change out mine about 9 months out as the water production drops and the sediment filter starts looking really coffee colored throughout

The "loud-decibel" in the description of the show is kinda of reminiscent of all the other reality diy reaility shows out there. It's a bit of a turn off.
