    Maureen's Classroom DSA 105

Good info. I have never done this before. But probably will be doing it again at some point, since I have quite a bit of very old yet cool rock.

    Maureen's Classroom DSA 105

Friday evening checked phosphates in soaking rock. Definitely there after one day. Amount unknown really bc I cannot distinguish between colors on API test card (students use them bc they are cheap; students' testing is unreliable bc there's a lot going on with a classful doing tank care jobs...

Thank you for that guidance. I am unfamiliar with gyres, so that directs me to what I would like to look into a bit.

Looking at a Hygger gyre for a 48"x24"x10" lowboy tank. Any suggestions on which model, since tank is so shallow? No return/sump but I do have strong regular powerheads that can provide additional flow.

Help reopen Hawaii. Fill out this form today!

Signed, included long comment, and shared with bunch of science/environ sci teachers (some of whom may oppose it). On a side note, I have been trying to support teachers setting up classroom SW tanks across the country. We may forget that a vast portion of the US has no coastal access and lacks...

    Thomas' CADE Reef 1500 S2

So many great things going on in that tank. Great growth, love those anthias, never heard of that lens port. Gonna be watching those milles now.

So here is the current state of my tanks. A couple weeks ago they were worse. DSA 105 mixed reef: Only one light has been working for quite awhile (I have good lights; connection issue), so everything on the left. A month ago corals were more bleached. Bioblocks just in to seed for another tank...

Do You Use a Mag Float 500?

I guess no one uses the extra large. I came across some pads for that size and it seemed silly to cut them down to the size of my smaller mag floats, but guess I will just cut them to size.

    Fluval Flex 15 Nano

Welcome! What a great and well thought out plan. When your tank is mature, consider adopting a green BTA from a line that has been in the Bay Area for decades. (=ask me)

    Hello from Vacaville

Welcome! That's exciting to get back into keeping a tank. So smart that you kept the nice rock. This would be the perfect time to start a tank journal here: https://www.bareefers.org/forum/forums/tank-journals/
