210 gallon Dream tank

So to make sure I understand correctly, I just need to measure the hole cut into the glass under the tank? And that will tell me what bulkhead per this chart?

I have the old bulkheads but the bottom have broken pipes in them that was glued in with pvc glue. So wouldn't work in terms of under the tank to the sump.

Also another question about the return lines bulkhead gasket.

Should there be a gasket for the outside of the tank in addtion to the one inside the overflow box like a sandwhich one on each side of the glass if this makes sense?
Make sure you get the right bulkhead. That looks to be SxS. I’ve made the mistake of getting the ones with the thread inside before. Also, only one gasket and goes on the wet side. The other side of the glass will have the nut. Neptune Aquatics sells bulkheads so you can take the one you have and just compare them to be sure, but it does look like 1”

Ok that's what I'm thinking it is now as well 1 inch. I glanced at them when I made a unexpected trip after work there eariler today. I didn't have the overflow thing with me so I only looked them over. I do have a Amazon credit for the ones i smaller ones I returned I'm hoping to cash that in for the right ones. So my back up plan would be to take the drain pipe to Neptunes if measuring the hole doesn't work and I somehow get it wrong again.

Also copy I want slip to slip bulkheads.

Plenty of vids on bulkhead installation just do not over tighten since they can crack! Some people put a dab of silicone or plumbers grease around the threads buts this can lead to over tightening then crack or extremely hard to be removed later.. Gasket on flange wet side but can be on dry side gasket always goes on flange so nut doesn’t squish/ twist gasket.. Razor blade around holes cleaning with iso alcohol then install dry don’t over tighten..A union below the bulkhead can be handy if you ever have to switch it out..Didn’t you install bulkheads on your other tank?
Hows the progress going on the rocks your neutralizing?
Nice job so far thanks for the updates!

All rocks from the tank were bleached for 12 days (minus 2 smaller rocks that held the nems.)

* I think i'm actually gonna go with rock structures from @Coral reefer for this tank.

For the 65gallon tank another member actually tightened the bulkheads for me.
I did learn alot from getting it set up. So now I actually understand what I'm looking at in terms of return and drains.

On another note this 200 gallon tank has alot of extras that my other tanks didn't have.

1.) a chunky uv sterilizer
2.) 2 reactors
3.) Dual return lines (I'm guess there needs to be a little fancer plumbing to get the return pump to split between the two lines)
4.) Another dosing pump/containers (same model as I have that I've been scared to set up lol)
5.) Some controller set up called reef keeper (not sure if I should just pif or trash it, videos where from 13/16 years ago and a key selling feature was dial up internet and email alerts. Company I believe closed so Probably only a fossil at this point.
* I've gotten the dream tank, I will definitely get a modern controller setup apex or hydros at sooner or later.

6.) A awesome 58 gallon sump.

So this tank will for sure be a huge step up in general reefing tech. It will be great opportunity to learn how the various equipment works. I've seen countless videos abd read many articles. It's much different when it's actually infront of you though.

If I can under stand even the dosing pumps, Than I wouldn't have any excuse for not setting up the other one my main Biocube.

It's a work in progress, and @Srt4eric knowledge will most definitely been needed. Yet without being aggroant I feel alot more informed since having the 65gallon tank. Still in over my head lmao as there is alot of things I've never had before.

I'm pretty excited overall.

You should have plenty of space in that sump to get dual return pumps setup.
I have the main return pump they were using when i broke it down and probably 3 other return type pumps that where used somewhere in the set up. Sump does have room for 2 pumps but not sure what pump option is ideal that's aa future eric question for sure.

I definitely recommend using the UV sterilizer which probably needs a new bulb. How many watts is it?
It's still mounted under the tank stand. I need to crawl under there and unhook some other stuff. I will see if there is a label get pictures of it and stuff.

You’re bulkheads we’re 1” and 3/4” for each overflow box
I just ordered 1 1 inch last night should be here today somtime. If it fits I will get more. I kinda want this install to be clean as within my ability. Plus it will make for good practice for me to gain experience. I want to get bulkheads for the sump it's self as well some are 1inch. So I could also test the fit for those.

Bulk reef supply I see has the bulk heads that have slip on top, with threads on the bottom. I plan to order two of those for the tank it's. So if I ever need to move it in tbe future nothing will be permanent. I will also plan to use a few unions on most of the plumbing.

Overall I would rather delay 2-3 weeks to have things done well than rush just to get it hooked up. I may do a dry run though with just tap water at some point.

Threads are fine, but don’t kid your self. A pair of $10 bulkheads when you’re moving a tank that that is nothing.
And
I would recommend replacing ALL plumbing
It may have been compromised during deconstruction
Definitely new gaskets and bulkheads
There’s nothing worse than a failing cracked bulkhead when your tank is full
Such events tend to occur just after bedtime
Don’t let it be you

I plan to get as much new plumbing parts as I can. I won't be able to replace the 2 return pipe bulkheads because they used pvc glue to glue them inside the bulkheads. That would make me have to also replace the tank specific overflow pipes as well they actual look pretty good. Though I will definitely swap out the gaskets on those two pipes, and the other bulkheada that aren't glued in any case.

The rock that was in the display layed out on 2 6ft folding tables.

The two return pumps same brand but different series models both 12 000.

Lastly I got the 1inch bulkhead today, drain pipe fits it but it seems loose.
Could i used anything to make it stick better without out actually using pvc glue making permanent?

Maybe regular super glue or plumbers tape?

Yea 36 watt..I dont have experience with that brand uv. If you end up using that one make sure the glass sleeve is clean and the gaskets are good or just order a new ones plus new bulb unless thats new..
