I like to get dry rock wet with bacteria for a week or two before exposing it to light if you can
They recommend dropping the live rock directly into the tank - not recommended in your opinion?Have extra saltwater on hand if you can. There should be a mini cycle.
Yes, that was the plan and per their instructions since it is arriving submerged in water.I am excited to see the Tampa Bay live rock in there. Are you prepping the live rock or dropping it directly into the tank when you receive it?
Yes drop it into your aquarium. Watch for a mini cycle. Cuz of die off. Might have to change water. So have some extra saltwater ready. They recommend dropping the live rock directly into the tank - not recommended in your opinion?
Understand. Thanks for clarifying!Yes drop it into your aquarium. Watch for a mini cycle. Cuz of die off. Might have to change water. So have some extra saltwater ready.
I would do the water change at 2-3 days after adding the new rock
I find 10% to be a waste of time10% is enough?
I find 10% to be a waste of time
think of a fart in an elevator…. If you change 10% of the air…
I do at least 25-30% to have a real impact to dilute the pollution
Rude and wrong!Ok, I need to rant about Tampa Bay Saltwater and how I am disappointed about them. The live rock arrived this morning at 11 am, I tried to pick this up after work at 8 pm from Oakland Southwest Cargo. They open until 11 pm. Unfortunately, the Inspector from the Department of Agriculture only comes once daily before 11 am, so the rock cannot be released until tomorrow. I drove in heavy traffic back and forth for nothing.

Bleh that sucks. More of an issue with Oakland airport really though. The SFO Southwest terminal is definitely a lot better and what @Coral2Coral used for our shipmentOk, I need to rant about Tampa Bay Saltwater and how I am disappointed about them.
