any ideas why my acans look withered

Yeah, Mikey's stopping by this morning to drop off a sample, and pick up some Mag. He used the Red Sea kit, you know what that means, I'll hit it with the SeaChem and see where it's at.
 
thats after 1000ppm after I dumped an entire bottle of seachem mag in last night . A lot of things going on in my tank now make a lot of sense .I try not to "tweek" my tank water or the system to much , if ever . That may be how it has gone un noticed for so long .

just dosed it , Ill keep you guys posted on the effects
 
And if you still need more mag by the time of the next meeting (BOD/Gen) and don't want to use mag-sulf (epsom), I got a 5lb bucket of Mag-chlor and can share some.

Mg is consumed at a specific rate relative to alk/Ca in calcification. If you know your alk consumption, you can calculate your Mg dosing rate(as well as your Ca rate).

So I dosed the mag yesterday , and they still look the same today . I will give it a few days before I do anything else just to give them a chance to rebound if they are gonna . Any other Ideas as to the issue ?
 
Takes a while for them to recover. Won't see anything overnight.

Some LPS don't recover well, but acans tend to be more resiliant.

Try target feeding too.
 
They were ripe for feeding last night . I didnt feed them though because I didnt want to stress them any more then they are now . Ill try feeding them tonight and see where that gets me . the one thing I have learned is there is no fast fix for anything in this hobby .
