anyone here owns a civic hybrid?

Exactly Eileen. Lots of people don't realize, you have a "car" that weighs 2-3 times as much as an ordinary car, if you try to accelerate at the same rate as the toyota corolla that's sitting next to you, you're going to burn up way more gas. Unless I'm in a hurry, I like to glide off a light in my prius, sure people behind me probably are a bit pissed, but screw them, there's no laws that say I can't accelerate at a gentle speed.

IIRC the back seat in the Honda does not go down, I don't know if they've changed that recently, but that would put me off right there.

BTW, ever been to a nickel mine? What happens to the batteries? Does it take any energy to recycle them? Where are the batteries made? Where does the raw material come from?

That's why I like my Prius, 6 foot long tank stand and hood fit in their without too much trouble.. aside from the fact it was really heavy! :D

There's been one really factually incorrect anti-hybrid "article" that's been floating about.

Never been to a nickel mine
It takes energy to recycle everything, although I've heard toyota refurbishes them and sells them to other companies who don't need a 100% operational set of cells.
Probably made in some third world country like everything else is.
Raw materials come from nickel mines I'm guessing since they are NiMH :D
