Dont worry I got the same info from a lfs about 5 years ago. I always wondered why my salinety was going up so high! I feel your anger! Thats what bar is here for! A wealth of info!!!!

Heh, one caveat is this...your skimmer takes out saltwater! So assuming you did a lot of freshwater top-up and never did a water change, the salinity would drop because you are skimming out salt and replacing with fresh! But of course regular water changes help mitigate that and ... skimmers don't take out THAT much water, unless your skimmer is awesome, or super wet!

So assuming you did a lot of freshwater top-up and never did a water change, the salinity would drop because you are skimming out salt and replacing with fresh!
