AquaIllumination Coral Grow Blade out of warranty story.

July 2023 I bought the AI Blade Coral Grow for my reef tank. In January 2025 is stopped working and was well out of warranty. I emailed AI and they said if I paid for the cost of shipping they would give me an estimate for repair and I would pay for parts and labor would be free. The initially said it would take 10-14 days for the repair and that turned into 2 months. They just got back to me and said they would replace the entire light for free and ship it to me. I made a counter offer and asked if they could upgrade it to the Coral Glow and I would pay the difference and they accepted that proposal.
Aquaillumination went above and beyond their warranty and I thought this would be a good story to post if anyone is interested in their products.

AI is usually pretty good with support, I've had them fix stuff way out of warranty. You using that blade for supplementation? I've seen them on by themselves and they're super actinic.

The Blade is my main light. I had an old BioCube 16 sitting in the corner and decided to turn it into a mini reef tank and that was the only LED light I could get into the tank. I custom made brackets to hold it in place with my 3D printer. I was working great and then just died. I suspect the main capacitor blew on the power input. Yes. They treated me pretty good. I would do business with them again.

Nice I did the same with my old Nanocube. I'd probably squeeze in some warm white strip or something in there on a timer unless you want that neon only look.

I have been thinking that very thing. The downfall of the Coral Grow Blade is that it does not make the coral pop. It is on my to do list.
