B. merletti or B. wellsi?

Not sure which this is... Other forums mention size as a factor but no one seems positive about what they're saying. Can anyone shed a little more light on the ID? TIA

Might sell. Might DBTC. Might go for free. We'll see what the future holds.

Back one is more red/green. Front one is more of a teal (blue green ish aquamarine one of those colors)/red-purple

How can you tell? Just size??? Too simple to be true.

Wellsi. The structure of merletti looks like a compact trumpet coral (aka candy cane coral, Latin name escapes me at the moment)

The Aussie ones sure do seem like they are halfway in between. They seem to have the hardiness of merleti though.

easy way to tell is if it's encrusted on a rock (wellsi) or if it has some sort of branching structure (merletti)

Fragged merletti will seem to encrust for a while before they start making columns. Nice animals you got there.

Thanks for the input. I had a colony of bright bright red wellsi that melted on me last year.. Now I have these two and a smaller (hopefully recovering) all frag of red merletti
