Bagged Live Sand

This what I used and I like it just fine. I usually follow the rule of thumb of about a 1lb per gallon. In my long rectangular tank that gives me about a 1" deep sandbed.

I've used araga-alive before, but prefer Tropic Eden substrate. No rinsing required and super clean.

Alright, so dry sand (construction grade) weighs about 2700 per cubic yard, your area is about 0.012 cubic yards, so that's around 30 pounds of sand. Now I'm pretty sure aragonite weighs less, due to it's composition. The water most certainly will take up space between the sand particles, but I'm not sure how they're weighing the sand... 20 pounds of sand weight? 20 pounds of wet sand weight? 20 pounds of wet sand plus blob of water in the bag weight?

Either way

They say 23 pounds, So go with 30 to be safe. Look elsewhere too $33 seems a bit on the high side for pricing, you won't find it THAT much cheaper, but shipping costs vs other places might swing it a bit more.

I used the live sand in bag with saltwater and all the microbes in criters in there for all my tanks. Dunno whats wrong with that plus helps with the cycle too.
