Quick question: my pulsing Xenia frag (it's light lavender color) never opened up after hours of sitting in my tank. Is this normal or is he dead?

As long as you can still see something there, its not dead. Xenia is a soft coral, so if it dies it will completely melt away and you won't see anything left since there's no skeleton. The frags were in a cooler all day which means they cooled off some and so they sometimes will take quite a while to open back up. Xenia is pretty hardy, so it should be just fine. Just give it some time!

Navdeep - there will probably come a time when you will have so much Xenia in your tank that you will be plucking them out as I do all the time! I can give you as much as you want if yours did not make it home safely!!
