I have a two little fishes that I modified and repurposed, which was retired after a month or two and back to manual dosing. What are you using right now?

From my understanding, the full auto carx mix and only feed in fully co2 saturated water into the reaction chamber which is a very low 6.0. You just need to set your effluent rate to get the desired alkalinity. On a normal carx you're adjusting the bubble count while balancing it with feed/effluent rate to get the desired pH (6.6-6.8), enough effluent to get the dkh needed, without flooding your reactor with undissolved bubbles. Very much a balancing act that has its learning curve. Downsides to auto carx is price and you have to use calcite media which is pure without trace elements. You can't use crushed coral because it'll melt too fast in that low of pH.Your exact reactor is in the outlet store. But what’s the difference between the Octo and an “automatic” one like something from Deltec?
Thanks - does that mean auto carx has more of a negative impact on PH ?From my understanding, the full auto carx mix and only feed in fully co2 saturated water into the reaction chamber which is a very low 6.0. I don't know by how much, but to mitigate it you can drip the effluent into a refugium for algae to uptake the excess CO2 or drip into a skimmer intake to gas off. Thanks - does that mean auto carx has more of a negative impact on PH ?
How noticeable is the negative PH anyway?
It does have a negative impact on pH. Even with secondary reaction chambers, you're adding CO2 to the system; that decreases the pH. The drop isn't noticeable on mine, though; and honestly, running a CO2 scrubber and a carx I'm still getting pH between 8.1 and 8.4 daily. Thanks - does that mean auto carx has more of a negative impact on PH ?

What reactor are you using Josh? Automatic or fiddle? It does have a negative impact on pH. Even with secondary reaction chambers, you're adding CO2 to the system; that decreases the pH. i'm looking but not sure if is the a8 pro [g6 style] or hiphen x30 [cree and meanwell] worth the extra money over the a8se?Dunno if anyone is looking. The AliExpress A8se are on sale. There’s a 20 dollar coupon making it 170 shipped. That’s pretty cheap.
They are copies of the g5. I’ve never had the ones with the Cree or meanwell so dunno.i'm looking but not sure if is the a8 pro [g6 style] or hiphen x30 [cree and meanwell] worth the extra money over the a8se?
I just snagged some of these(pros) so there’s a few variations to choose from and they are all a little different. The a8s is a g6 pro with generic LEDs, the a8pro is a g6pro with cree LEDs, and the a8se is a g5 with generic LEDs. For the price I went with the pro model since I felt the extra money for more quality LEDs made sense. If I were setting up 10+ lights for a grow out I may have went a different route but for 2 lights on a main display the cost made sense.i'm looking but not sure if is the a8 pro [g6 style] or hiphen x30 [cree and meanwell] worth the extra money over the a8se?
I picked up one also. Do you know if the BRS filters/media are compatible?I ended up getting the 100gpd icecap filter for $75, can't really beat that given the filters nearly cost that much alone.
I was going to ask the same, grabbed the 200gpd a day or two ago.I ended up getting the 100gpd icecap filter for $75, can't really beat that given the filters nearly cost that much alone.
Should work with standard 10" filtersI picked up one also. Do you know if the BRS filters/media are compatible?
