Black urchins

Hello Reefers,
I’ve got three black urchins free for pickup in SF, I’ve had them for almost a year, they did a pretty good job clearing the algae on my rocks. They are kind of big around 3-3.5 inches now. PM if you want to pick them up.

Do they seem to bother corals?

They usually go around the corals but they are big, if corals not really glued down they’ll knock them off.

What kind of algea did they eat from your rocks?
Did they also eat coraline?

They ate everything on the rocks (turf, hair, diatoms, cyano, sea lettuce, coraline, etc).

it's the shape made to stars in the sky, e.g. the Big Dipper

Asterinas on the other hand are those little starfish people seem to flip flop over how good/bad they are.

Not sure what type these are, but hopefully they make a dent in my air algae patches. I'll almost certainly pass at least one of these on in the near future. If someone is interested, let me know.

So I‘d like to pass one of these along to someone who can use some algae removal. Unlike tuxedos or pincushions, these don’t carry stuff around. Not nearly as stabby as a diadem, but still be sure to know where they are when you have your hands in your tank. Pickup at my place in SF.
