I've had 3 different colonies start dieing for no reason!

Water quality should not be the problem.



Blastos dieing...
What causes Blastos to die? I mean ust open up the mouth and shrivel up and die?

I have been noticing a few of them. Started with one colony and spread to 2 more. No clue!

I've dipped in revive and iodine... It slows it down... But cannot seem to stop it?

Any ideas?

No Goo... They just open up the mouth and start tearing apart! I've had them for at least 6 months or more.

One polyp at a time and it goes to the next one.

Are they starving? I have no clue!

I'm afraid for my newly acquired Rainbow Blasto (The best Ive ever seen)

2.0 meq/l? Alk is low.

Try getting it closer to 3.8 meq/l and give the blastos some time to recover.

They can be touchy about water parameters and once they have problems, it can be difficult for them to come back.

It can help to put them in a cave for a while and feed them.
 
Do you have softies (particularly sarcophytum or sinularia) or goniopora in your tank? There could be some chemical warfare going on. I've found that blastos are particularly sensitive to those corals. Run some carbon and see if that helps.
