Can you safely silicon a swelling magnet?

My ATO magnet seems to be swelling after only a couple of months in water. Could I try coating the magnet myself with some spare silicon, or should I just purchase a magnet?

If the latter, any suggestions for smaller reef-safe coated magnets would be appreciated.

I'd toss out not worth the risk..
K & J has been the go-to for years they make a good product

This company produces great products also plus their magnetics are encased in clear acrylic pods so you will notice any issues immediately..Alot of his stuff is made to order fyi

Toss it. Or get the company to replace it.

I like K&J as above.

Also I find the Oceans Wonders coated magnets to be great and generally super useful around the tank-

Only after a few months was the ato new or in storage for a while? Not good if a new ato or if it's a house brand...

Strongly support that recommendation.
