It’s hard to tell from the pictures but it’s actually pretty well supported. That is just a water change drain line that’s connected to a 1.5” SCH 80 bulkhead and also strapped at multiple points on the bottom of the shelf. And, at the terminal point, it’s also bulkheaded to the concrete slab.

Also, if if both the gate valve and ball valve failed due to wear and tear, the whole assembly can still be replaced by plugging the other end of the bulkhead with a threaded plug therefore avoiding unnecessary tank drain.

BTW...this is actually for another system I am also building.

Did you sleeve the pipe with a barrier from the cement? Some call it a “chase”?
