I forget how it was exactly worded. Do we still have the rule of only 3 max of each kind of frag?
The rule you are referring to changed over time and hasn’t been enforced lately. If I recall correctly the rule was max of 1 or 2 bonus tickets (3 or 6 frags) per type of bonus coral- bring 3 frags of that kind and get 1 ticket. If you brought 10 frags of the same kind you’d still get just 1 ticket (or 2 if the max was 2). The main thing I remember about it was it being confusing. Maybe @sfsuphysics or @Coral reefer remember more clearly than I do.

With no limit on number of tickets you can get for ultra frags. So you could bring 4 of the same ultra frag and get 4 tickets.

This is the sort of rule that is up to the frag swap coordinator Josh @IOnceWasLegend

My impression of that rule is that it was put into place to avoid 'flooding' a frag swap with a ton of the same coral. I think we're less worried about that now, both as these events are more frequent now, and because the BOD can monitor/update the list more frequently if something like that happens.

So, no: I don't think we need that rule, and that it's better to encourage ALL THE NICE coral. :)

Yeah now that my Nirvanas have been de-listed there is significantly less risk of flooding lol

Great work! Truly a premium list of coral.

Curious to get the club's thoughts on "bounce" corals which are no longer "bouncing". As far as I am aware, there are two schools of thought as to why corals have this irregularity; either because of specific lighting and water parameters, or due to a specific bacteria in the coral. Either way, I do not believe that a coral is ever guaranteed to "re-bounce" once it has lost it's bubbles. Also, I think it opens up a can of worms to allow corals which may or may not have bounced in the past.

Should this be on a case-by-case basis as to whether the "no longer bouncing" corals are allowed as bonus/ultra? Should the corals be required to bounce at the day/time of swap?? As the true reason for bouncing is unknown, it's a bit of a grey area.

What does everyone think?

Thank you for taking my comment for what it was. I was just stirring the pot. But this was exactly what I was referring to. My thoughts are if you’re going to describe a coral as such it needs to be representative of that description. Wether it’s at a swap or purchased from an online vendor or retail store.

I think this is fair and, going forward, coral that is described as 'bounce' on the bonus/ultra list, must be bouncing at the time of the swap.

And hopefully that is the most bounce-dense sentence I'll ever have to write.

Quick question if I get 18 bonus corals that is 6 tickets right?
I have 3 Bonus A, 7 Bonus B and 8 Bonus C. This is my understanding from this update.

From what I remember in the past you can get 2 Bonus coral A and 1 Bonus coral B to get a Bunus ticket. I think this is how it was last time. But not have 3 Bonus coral A to get 1 Bonus Ticket.
